Curator Farmer Cultivating by Cristian Paco

Cultivating Knowledge

If someone told me that the knowledge can be cultivate as the same way of a tree, I would say "noo way" but indeed it is possible and we did it.
"Pearltrees" as a concept is something new and quite tricky to understand from the beginning, but as much you get into, it become easier and clearer to use, maybe one of the most interesting part of pearltrees is the interconnection between other pearltrees and for this reason I have open a pearl with just inter-links about our subject "TPACK". To better understand what I am writing in here let's move trough the pearls by clicking on the link below.
As you can see, "pearltree" is an idea based on conceptual mapping in which we do not only add concept  but, videos, web sites, files, etc. This is the proper tool to tidy up our messy interactive bibliography in order to find out straightaway what we are looking for by just clicking on the subject we are interested, however it wouldn't be that easier if there’s not a previous organization of it, that's why we should  organize it by scales, from main topic through sub-topics  labelling then and embedding a picture relating to the topic, then is going to be much easy to catch up our link.
Other interesting part in my role for this week is to reference the fonts by APA style. "What a head ache". It was the first sentence passing through my mind when I saw my duties for this week. "How can I use APA style? what’s the way to do it with a video from youtube? many many question and not many answers but now after a week, everything change, I know how to do it and I'll be able to transmit it to my team in the further tasks, also I even find it rather interesting as we can reach easily to the original information.

The Analyst by María Moreno

ANALYSIS SHOULD BE A COMPETENCE FOR EVERY TEACHER
What was the best part of the activity?
The best part of our activity was the result. Because while we were doing it, we had lots of questions that we have to solve in order to complete our work. We also made a great effort trying to do our best, but it was the first time that we had to do something like that, so we were a bit lost!! For that reason when on Monday Rosana exposed it and we knew that we have finished it and that the result was great, we felt that it was the best part of our effort.
What was the worse?
The worse part of our activity was when the first day we had to start working and we didn’t know what to do, we were confused, with lots of ideas and resources. It was horrible, because we were completely lost
What was the best moment of the week (in the work of the group)?
The best moment of the week was when we all had our roles and we could start to work without any problem, helping each other. It was fantastic, because we understood the meaning of TPACK; what the teacher wanted in our work; and the most important thing, how we had to do it.
What was the worse?
The worse moment was when we have to start working, searching information on the Internet and trying to understand what TPACK was.
What have you learnt?
We have learnt a lot about TPACK, because before doing these work we didn’t know anything about it’s existence, and we think that it is very important to us because the educational system and methodology are changing, so if we want to be good teachers, we must teach using TPACK.
What do you need to conserve -as a group- for the next weeks?
As a group we must conserve our comradeship, because together we’ve worked, with a very good harmony. Also we should conserve our kind of dedication to work, because with motivation and effort we will pass more easily this subject.
What do you need to improve –as a group- for the next weeks?
For the next week we have to improve the working time that is that we can’t send everything the last day to the facilitator, because we are annoying him. We have to help each other and make the work easy to everyone.
How THIS content is related to other contents in the course and in your degree?
It is related to the course because depending on the kind of subject that we study, it can be Content knowledge; pedagogical knowledge or technological knowledge. So the TPACK model organize the different subjects in groups depending on his function and content.
There is any evident social connection of this content (news, politics, etc.)?
Of course that it is evidence, because technology is developing day to day, so we have to be ready to teach our students with the new methodologies and technologies, because children will be professional of computers, tablets... and we have to be ready.

I'm Translator by Fernando Tortosa

-->
My job this week was to choose five terms that have helped us to a better understand of our work.
The terms that I have chosen are the following ones:
Information and communications technology (ICT): are those technologies that allow you to transmit, process and disseminate information instantly.
They have lots of contributions: they allow an easy access to a vast source of information; they have a high storage capacity, automation of work…
And they also have lots of advantages: potentially enhance the quality of life of individuals, they cause the emergence of new professions and markets and also less trees need to be cut down to make paper, and more forests can be saved.
Mind Maps: We have come to the conclusion that a mind maps it’s an attractive, intuitive and creative way to express, organize and present ideas.
We can make mind maps by hand or using computer programs, made for it.
Mind maps have a lot of advantages, apart the obvious advantages of saving space and time and enjoyment that can provide the process of making them. It also stimulates creativity and memorization.
Mind mapping has lots of applications like in autocatalysis, making decisions solving conflicts, language learning…
It has also application in health like helping people with dyslexia, like we can see in one research made by Georgina Kenyon where it says that "Dyslexics have to devise a new strategy to wire that circuit board completely. And mind mapping can assist dyslexics as it can consist solely of images."
Pre-service Teacher Education: is the education and training provided to student teachers before they have undertaken any teaching.
The pre-service training is the formal training received by teachers before starting to practice the profession, while in-service training generally refers to non-formal training is carried out on site working.
A Pre-Service Teacher is student teacher who has not yet completed training to be a teacher. Before enrolling into any pre-service education, most students obtain a previous degree either a general or honours in a subject of their choice.
In-Service Teacher Training: Teacher training is conceived as a continuous process, intentional and systematic because it integrates and coordinates all elements that interact interdependently.
The directionality of this process points to the teacher as the centre of action in three dimensions of development: personal, social and professional dimension.
It is intended that the shares of continuous training to strengthen the construction of their identity and their leadership and professional education, to commit yourself, your school community in which he works and the country, through a responsible and ethical behaviour in the classroom, the school and the community.
Open educational resources (OER): Open educational resources are the resources that are available for free and that can be used for teaching, learning, or research. It includes textbooks, reading books, games and other learning aplications; and basically any other material that can be used for educational purposes.
Open educational resources refer to electronic resources and such materials that are generally released under a free license that supports an open use of the content. It involves all the educational resources that people share for free.
The promotion of open educational resources is mainly motivated by the will to stop the modification of knowledge.

Working as Journalists by Raquel Pelayo & Rocío Ramón.

Raquel Pelayo and Rocío Ramón are the journalist, and to complete the experience will do a short interview with our colleagues to see their point of view in terms of roles:

My work consisted in the evaluation of my colleagues, has been a complicated job worse because all have worked well have given me .
     2 Cristian
-What is your role? Curator farmer
-Wich is your experience?
My experience is That it will be a good chance for learning and for getting experiences and references in appa style , in other hand I want to talk about Pearl tree Because this is  a good opportunity for start Working with Such an interesting application.
    3 Rosana Yepes
-What is your role? Star
-Which is your experience?
I feel like I 've had a great responsibility, because I have to synthesize the information as clearly as possible so that my colleagues understand when explaining the class .
    4 Feli
-What is your role? Facilitator
-Which is your experience?
This first week, my experience has been divided between confusion, stress and the desire to integrate the whole group who are willing to take part of this group. Everything was new, but despite the difficulties, I have tried to be fair with the group members and direct them in the most suitable way to let them feel as a part of the whole task and to prove an useful way to learn about this topic .

-What is your role? Translator
-Which is your experience?
On our first week everyone we have to be adapted to each other way of working. My main job has been to seek five terms related to TPACK that have served us help you better understand our work.
6 Raquel Pelayo and Rocío Ramón (journalists)
Finally our experience as a journalist has been nice and funny and we could ask our colleagues and ourselves in their place and we believe these to help us when we touch his role to us and allowed us to see from outside and from within as is done team work. We had to look for some blogs about TPACK and we have made questions about TPACK  and we have found too a group in Facebook where they put a lot of content and information about TPACK and we have published our link of this blog, and in Twitter we have asked to some people about TPACK.In addition we seek several related blogs TPACK signed them with the intention that we returned to our blogg signature but got no response. We can say that we did not find many especially in English.
For example:

-Now we are going to summarize our work this week, our first week of this subject.
Our first day of class was a very little disaster in the sense that our old group was not complete, and we had to go with other group, and finally we are a group of seven people. Then we began a raffle where each one had to take a paper with a role and after that we saw what we had to do. At first we were a few confused because we didn’t know how to work with this method, and all of us began to take information about the TPACK. Also we made a blog and Twitter for our group. We never have used the blog so we have spent so much time researching how to use it. On the other hand, with Twitter we had some problems, our count had been blocked and we had to create another one.
When we had some information, we started to put posts in this blog.
Next day the facilitator decided what kind of information we have to look for, to complete our research  in TPACK, some of us searched for information about its history, other the media, etc. When we were working in class we had some problems with the internet, in the sense that in this class our computers don’t take wi-fi, so it was a complicate to work here and look for more information.
Then, when we have all our information of TPACK and the mind map, in class we did our mind map for the star, the person who has to explain to other groups what was the TPACK, its history and all the information.
And finally, the last day, Monday, all the stars of each group explained the TPACK and each group must to write the worst things, the best things, what we wanted copy  and put marks.
To sum up, last week has been a little stressful because we had to organize all group and understand what we have to do and how we must to do, in the sense that we had not idea to do this. We hope that we will improve like group and the manner to work with this new method for us.
Some pictures about our week:
This picture is our first and second day of class looking for information about TPACK, fighting against the computers and the wi-fi.

Here you have a picture of all the memebers that form the group Brain  Storming.

Those pictures are about our work in the mind map of TPACK, how to present and expose it.

Our star was Rosana, who had to expose and explain our work about TPACK and explaining to other groups.
    OUR OPINION ABOUT OTHER GROUPS.

Teach leader .

-The worst things: the position when one of the stars was speaking, we think that is not the correctly manner to present or make an exposition. Another thing is that one of them was reading all the text that had to explain, and personally speaking, the best way to explain is with examples, they didn’t use it.

-The best things were the pronunciation of both was very good and they expressed very well, in the sense that we have understood what they have explained.

-And the thing that we could copy from them is the organization to explain and the organization and distribution of the mind map.

Educational rush hour.

-The worst things is that when the star had to explain was so fast, we thing that a little bit slow will have better and the star didn’t stop, in other words, when they explain, so much information is not good, so with some pauses will be better to catch the attention of the audience.

-The best things: the star had a good pronunciation and his/her explanation was very good, easily to understand and had a good content, it wasn’t too much, it was exactly what we need to know.

-The thing that we copy from them is the explanation, because it was really good and with easy examples.

Give me five seven.

-The worst things: the star was very nervous and must stop and then continue, and when the star spoke very low and it was a little difficult to hear with all the sounds that were in class.

-The best thing was that explanation was very clear and we had understood very easily.

-The thing that we copy from them could be the mind map, in the sense that it was very organize and not all the groups made the same, it was a little different comparing with others.

Step by step.

-The worst thing that we can observe was that the star didn’t explain nothing about our subjects of this course, in other words, the star didn’t explain which subject use the content knowledge or the TPACK, etc.

-The best thing is that was very interesting start explaining the history of TPACK  and we think that is the best way to start an explanation, when, where, who and why the TPACK was made.

-Something that we copy from them was the good examples given with the history and they have used good resources taken from different students.

Hide and seek.

-The worst things that we have observed from the star was that spoke very low and it was difficult to hear and it was very technical, in the sense that when we must to explain the best thing, for us, is explaining it with a form easy to understand, not using technical words because if a person doesn’t understand that word or some words, his/her attention can be lost, we recommend to attract to the audience with an easy vocabulary and catching their attention.

-The best thing is that they know the content.

C’ome tutankamon.

-The worst thing is that they didn’t explain very well about the teachers, how they teach and the form that they use.

-The best thing for us was that they had explained the TPACK like we were children of primary education, very easy to understand and they using questions catch our attention.

-And what we could copy was the form that they have explained the TPACK.

The little ants.

-The worst thing was that they didn’t specify, they had explained everything in general, so we think that the must to deepen more.  And in the mind map was a lot of information and it was a little confusing.

-The best thing was the pronunciation, we could understand everything.

-What we could copy form them is the mind map, it was very original, and different about the others mind maps.

T8T teachers.

-The worst thing for us was that they had memorized the content and the explanation was mechanic.

-The best thing was that was very organized the explanation.

-Something that we could copy is the mind map, the form that they have expose it, in the sense that when the star had to explain was adding things to the post, and personally speaking we think that it’s a good form to explain and has got everything.

Feeling as a Star ( Rosana defending the star role)

FEELINGS AS A STAR
This week, obviously everybody was lost. In the beginning, I was quite overwhelmed. I have not been able to dedicate time to others subjects, because I had a huge responsibility. The star’s role is the role that I like the most, so I wanted it to do it as well as it could be possible. However, like we put in our blog before: “Confusions is often the best way to clarify…”
With the passage of time, I think that I have achieved understanding this subject. This subject, and in particular Linda, pretends that we learn investigating, that we use all resources, that it would not be one book which reduce our knowledge.
Probably, we all suffered because it requires much time, we have to work hard, but finally, I am sure that we are going to learn a lot and it is the important point.
Admittedly, I have not been able to explain everything what I know about TPACK in 5 minutes.
On the order hand, I am not so afraid because I am worker and I am doing my best to improve my English, so I have all ingredients in order to pass this subject.

Follow the Facilitator by Feli Travieso.

A GOOD PATH TO LEAD A VERY DIVERSE GROUP

To acquire a wide knowledge of any subject is essential to be involved from the very beginning. TPACK has been our first objective to achieve.
As future teachers, in order to teach a subject and achieve that our students feel attracted to it, it is necessary to develop a range of skills throughout our trajectory while we are learning. It is of overriding importance to know the path our students would take, the difficulties they would go through, and the way to make the subject appealing for them. There is nothing better for us that getting ourselves through the same experience. Once we get over this, we would be able to predict and anticipate the best way to make the subject appealing for our future students. Therefore having all the necessary skills to guide them through a path of experiences, intrigues, challenges and constant effort, so that they can achieve self-fulfilment. My first role reflects exactly this idea.
As a facilitator, and having in mind that it is our first week, it has been complicated to get everything together. My first goal to achieve in this subject was to coordinate a group and also being able to get used to new ways of technology.
My weakest point:
Having into account that I barely use networks such as tweeter, facebook, among others technology devices, it has required more effort on my behalf, due to the fact that in order to divide tasks equally, I needed to have many clear concepts. The desing of our block was a little bit difficult. Maybe it is because we wanted to  change the  blog default letter into comic sans and that change drove me a bit confused. The other fact is that all texts were created in Word format and for me they have been somewhat been difficult to justify everything.
Therefore I have invested time searching the way to open and organize a blog as well as Twitter.
My strengths:
On the other hand I have leading skills experience acquired during my working years. Not to say that I love challenges, thus, compensates my shortcomings in the Technological area.
My idea of taking the group on the right track has been to encourage them and split the investigation tasks to make everyone feel equally involved.
The group:
Our group consists of members who had mostly worked in previous groups. So it's the first time we worked together. Despite this, the integration and cooperation of all members has been very efficient.
Research processes were developed jointly. Perhaps in our first week the results won’t be optimal, since our knowledge is still limited.
Nevertheless as time passes by and we learn from mistakes done, we will cross our path of learning.
Task assigned to the team members:
Apart from their main tasks, all the members were assigned different investigation tasks, in order to build our blog accordingly, the followings were:
Raquel was in charge to look for TPACK social media and organization. She also opened our tweeter section.
Rocío wrote the seven components of TPACK.
Rosana was in charge of creating the mind map and read all the information downloaded by the group.
Cristian was in charge to look for information about the TPACK development in Europe.
María was the one who associated the components with the subjects that we are facing this year.
Fernando was assigned to investigate everything related to mind map. He compiled the information about the main features of this method.
And I have created our presentation page, as well as researched about TPACK history, and I have also added the results of our findings. And before add all the relevant  information to the blog, there were sent it to me, to check that everything was worded correctly.
Feelings:
During our first experience, all the forthcoming feelings were hand in hand; doubts, fear, motivation, stress and eagerness to excel.
Steps we all have followed under my supervision:

I considered that the group should be presented in a creative way, so I asked them their opinion about this item, they agreed on that, and we introduced ourselves in an innovative way.

We wanted to present TPACK with our own words in order to make the subject understandable.

Went through different pages, to find its onset.

We also tried to create different perspectives, such as point of view of different countries, results, etc.
The group has tried its best to go through this task and we are concerned that the task won’t exceed your expectances. But we all know that as difficult as it might seem, with time and experience and your advice we will increasingly improve.
Speed dating day:
I have to admit that the way to make us understanding the subject, using the speed dating methodology is extraordinary as well as creative and innovative.
Even though we have searched what speed dating was, we really did not know what to expect of it.
This was my personal feedback.
  • The star had repeated the same topic 10 times, during the process she was able to summarize the most important to be reflected and transmitted to our classmates
  • While we were moving through different groups, we were able to catch diverse point of views.
  • We could listen and evaluate at the same time, that fact helped us to develop new skills, such as being critical and objective.
  • We could listen to different stars and reach consensus in order to evaluate equally.
  • And overall we have learned from other groups the way to improve our forthcoming presentation.

Brainstorming's group presentation

The 21st century is a  time of very rapid and reflective social transformation.
It is a change from a century in which the dominant human activity was transferred to one in which communications  have overall become predominant, from teaching based in pedagogy and content to one way of new teaching dependent upon computers, networks and other devices. We are shifting from  the traditional methods to an innovative path that helps students to assimilate their learning in  a more comprehensive way, where the interaction  as well as the mutual learning is essential to reach results successfully. That is the reason to create a blog where a group of students of primary education will dig to different topics in order to learn alongside the tutor who will guide us to acquire the skills and the knowledge to become dynamic and innovative teachers.

Our group consists on members of different ages and distinct ideologies,  this fact  might help us to get different points of view, and reach diverse perspectives. That was the reason for us to name it, Brainstorming. We are...
